Main Floor Open-Concept Design In Caledon, Brampton

The project was from one of our repeat clients, for whom we built an un-suit washroom with a free-standing tub, a stand-up shower, a heated floor, and a dry sauna previously. There were multiple unwanted walls and corners, non-symmetrical and various coffered-ceiling styles, and a tiny kitchen on the main floor. The client wanted to remove unwanted walls to gain more natural light. We started the project at the beginning of October 2021 and finished it by mid-December 2021. Since the clients were living on the second floor during the renovations, we isolated the entire stairwell and openings with plastic and zipper doors.

We removed two load-bearing walls (27’ and 18’ lengths) and replaced them with steel beams flush to the second-floor joists. The project involved multiple adjustments and re-routing of electrical and mechanicals. The existing tiny fireplace was replaced with a 6’ wide modern-looking one. Likewise, the existing kitchen was replaced with a bold and modern look, including a massive island with a waterfall and a small fridge for drinks. The entire floor received engineered hardwood and high baseboards.
