The project started in March 2022 and finished in the first week of August 2022. It was a 2-stage project. First, we renovated the basement, building a brand-new stand-up shower and kitchen. After completing the basement, the client needed time to move to the basement and empty the main floor. Then, we started renovating the main floor in May 2022, including building a brand-new 5-piece washroom and a closet. During the process, we realized the exterior walls lacked insulation. The client agreed to demolish the bedrooms’ back and two side walls. After installing rigid insulation, the walls got new drywalls and mudding. As the existing hardwood floor had too much noise, we had to install a new subfloor with glue and screw. All interior doors, including jambs and casings, baseboards, and shoe molding, were replaced with modern ones. Finally, the entire main floor received fresh coats of Benjamin Moore paint.
